How To Find The Best Hepa Air Purifier For A Good Price

Having hypersensitivity could bring about a melancholic situation for many individuals suffering from it. They may cause watery puffy eyes, fits of sneezing and a runny or stuffed up nose where breathing can become difficult. The probability that this will occur is at some point in any time of the year but the most chances can be during the season where the blooming of flowers start therefore the scattering of pollens come about. The presence of these contaminations may vary from one location to another so it still depends on the area where you reside. This article would focus on allergy relief electronic air cleaner or air purifiers and what value they can add to the overall situation.

An electronic air cleaner or air purifier can be very beneficial at home use since being outdoors can’t be the only reason that you can get hypersensitivity as your home can be more inclined to gather such elements causing hypersensitivity more than anywhere else. Our homes are like enclosed spaces where we breathe in and out the same air on a continuous basis.Things like dust and dust mites are commonly found in the home and they can set off an attack very quickly. The function of the allergy relief electronic air cleaner is to purify the circulating air which you are breathing and eradicate all the floating particles which are behind the attacks.

Since most of the allergy relief electronic air cleaners or air purifiers are made in portable form, you can use it in any room and carry it along anywhere in the house as all it needs is to be plugged to an outlet. Some units of these units can get rid of other odors that can trigger attacks such as those coming from the perfume or air fresheners aside from dust and dust mites. The unconscious inhalation of such smoke or smoke smells can no longer hurt you as they can also entrap those so that such pollutants can’t set off an attack. The smoke smell usually lingers on the hands, hair and clothes of a smoker so when an attack prone person stays close to a smoker, the attack is inevitable. What the electronic air cleaner does is to capture the smoke as well as the smoke odor and run it through its own filtering system after which it releases fresh and clean air for you to breathe in.

Air purifiers are easily and readily available in a range of outlets including home improvement stores or stores which stock clothes, groceries and home improvement goods. You can get plenty of varieties of such units where many are made exclusively for use at home.

They can be used in a room or throughout the house and there are even systems for your car or truck with units that you can wear around your neck like a necklace that will filter the air where ever you go. I never even thought that a built in allergy relief electronic air cleaner into your cat box can actually remove feline stink – not until I had one.

Using Essential Oils Medicinally: The New Aromatherapy

Therapeutic use of essential oils in the alternative health and wellness arena is on the rise; more and more people are venturing beyond mainstream ‘aroma’ therapy and finding the value in true therapeutic grade Aromatherapy products. Education regarding the efficacy of essential oils in treating certain illness has been hard to come by in the US, a symptom of much of the natural health industry. There is in fact, legislation floating around Congress (which has already been enacted in Europe) to limit your access to natural medicines, which may include essential oils. Why? Because the pharmaceutical companies in the highest-profit industry on earth, want your business. This is one reason Aromatherapy has not gotten beyond the ‘aroma’ part, and why essential oils have yet to take their proper place in your holistic medical care.

Alternative therapies make up nearly ALL of the medicine ever used on Earth, and in many respects, we’re doing very well as a species — we must have been doing something right all that time. Many folks consider our connection to nature critical to our continued success on the planet, and that natural medicine must play a leading role. Essential oils turn out to be some of nature’s greatest gifts; they are potent chemicals created naturally by plants and are easily accessible to us. They’re also easy to use, relatively safe, and just happen to smell wonderful. What really is the science of Aromatherapy, and how might you learn to employ it in your wellness program? Let’s have a look…

There is an amazing disregard for natural healing in the mainstream media – despite the fact that so many of today’s ‘modern medicines’ are derived directly from plant compounds. There are HUNDREDS of plants that are known to contain anti-cancer compounds, for example. Many of these without the side-effects of chemotherapy (it takes a skilled, knowledgeable Naturopathic doctor to develop an effective personal protocol for this type of work, but success is certainly possible). This brings us to the amazing derision placed upon the science of Aromatherapy. Aromatherapy is purely the science of therapeutic use, for physiological as well as psychological imbalances and disorders, of naturally-produced volatile aromatic plant chemicals. It may be that the term ‘Aromatherapy’ lends itself to being pigeon-holed into mystical ‘new age’ hocus-pocus, but in reality, it is simply the practice of using a particular class of natural compounds to improve one’s health, wellness and well-being.

The dichotomy of deriding aromatherapy for it’s unfounded healing potentials and extolling its virtues as effective medicine is curious. Take the recent ‘proof’ of enteric-coated capsules of Peppermint essential oil being extremely effective in treating the sometimes debilitating symptoms of Irritable Bowel Syndrome, or IBS. IBS is a result of unchecked growth of ‘unfriendly’ bacterial in a weakened digestive system. Western medicine has been hard-pressed to find a safe and effective long-term treatment. Enter the steam distilled essential oil of whole peppermint herb – taken in capsules as to be well tolerated by those with sensitive stomachs, and to be released in the region of most effect – the intestines. The treatment has been widely accepted mostly due to it’s ‘proven’ efficacy in controlled studies. Peppermint has the wonderful result of eliminating the disease-causing microorganisms, while leaving the natural and healthy ‘bugs’ in the digestive system to do their job.

Another well documented treatment using essential oils is the use of Melissa essential oil on Herpes Simplex viral legions. The legions are outbreaks of the virus during times of undue stress; the virus is typically under control of the immune system and remains dormant in nerve endings of the skin – the disease is considered ‘incurable’ by conventional medicine. A great many university studies have evaluated Melissa (and other essential oils containing similar molecular components) and it’s efficacy in treating Herpes – and the results have been astounding. A majority of study participants have less pain, along with shorter and less-frequent outbreaks. One professor claims that the disease has gone into complete remission in some study participants with regular use of Melissa oil; no more outbreaks at all! Further, Melissa is very well tolerated, has no known toxic effects, and is readily available. This is true aroma-’therapy’ taking it’s place in the world of natural health, wellness and fitness.

The ‘aroma’ therapeutic effects of essential oils are not to be overlooked, however. As the importance of the mind-body connection is developed in conventional medicine, natural medicine has taken it into account all along. And the connection between the olfactory sense and the emotional centers of the brain are a strong one – more direct than any other of the five senses. Many studies have resulted with participants noting improved moods, sharper minds and lowered stress levels after inhaling essential oils. Lavender is well documented in its effects for improving sleep and bringing a sense of relaxation without sedation. As research continues, we’ll be reading more and more about the true therapeutic effects of smells, and the synergistic psychological and physiological effects of essential oils.

Aromatherapy is certainly not a cure all, but like any medical specialty, should be used when appropriate by knowledgeable patients and practitioners. How do you learn to use Aromatherapy most effectively for yourself? Education is the way! There are many wonderful, well-written books on the subject of medicinal usage of essential oils; of particular note are those by Dr. Kurt Schnaubelt: Advanced Aromatherapy and Medical Aromatherapy; also Jane Buckle’s Clinical Aromatherapy, and any publication by Robert Tisserand. These books can open a whole new world of alternative health and wellness, giving you more options to control your health care decisions than ever before. If in need, find a qualified, degreed practitioner – and remember, always consult a medical professional for any serious injury or illness. In some cases, aromatherapy can be used to as an adjunct to other treatments – discuss this with your doctor. Finally, there’s little harm in simply getting started with essential oils – learn, buy yourself some nice oils, and have fun!

Stop Sciatic Nerve Pain Now!

What is Sciatica? Sciatica is a constant pain that is felt along the sciatic nerve; it runs from the lower back down to the feet. It controls the muscles to the legs and provides feeling to the thighs, legs and bottoms of the feet. Sciatica occurs most often in people between the ages thirty through fifty. It usually is caused by repetitive use type of conditions, such as sitting for long periods of time, or normal wear and tear. It is rarely caused by an acute or traumatic event.

The pain from sciatica can be sometimes debilitating and it can get so bad it can be difficult for one to sit, walk or even sleep. Some people experience tingling, while for others it is just a dull pain. Occasionally it can be a burning type of feeling. Pain from the sciatic nerve is usually caused by the nerve being pinched or irritated in the lower back or lumbar spine. The nerve then gets inflamed and causes a variation of symptoms that can wreak havoc with one’s lifestyle.

The most conservative type of treatment for sciatica is the application of ice. I recommend to my patients to lay flat with two pillows under the knees and apply ice to the lower back on the side of involvement for fifteen minutes. This can be repeated up to every hour if necessary. It is important not to apply the ice for more than twenty minutes at a time because this can aggravate the condition. Applying ice to the source of the problem will decrease the inflammation of the nerve and subsequently decrease pain. Although this may be a temporary solution, it does offer some relief.

Manipulation of the spine to relieve the pressure on the nerve has been demonstrated in studies to be one of the most affective treatments for sciatic pain. Manipulation is the best place to start when someone has sciatic nerve pain. It is a non-invasive, drug-free treatment option. The goal of manipulation is to realign the spinal bones taking the pressure off the nerve. When the nerve pressure is alleviated one often finds great improvement with decreased pain and inflammation.

Other very effective, conservative option is a good exercise program. There are many exercises available, but these are the ones I have used in my clinical experience to be most effective. The first exercise is laying flat on your back with your knees bent. Squeeze or flex you buttocks pressing toward the ceiling. Hold this position for a count of ten and slowly return to the neutral position. Repeat this four times. Starting at the neutral position, bring each leg to your chest with both hands one at a time. Follow this by bringing both knees to the chest, bringing your head up again holding for a count of ten and returning slowly to the neutral position and do this four times. A third exercise is laying on your stomach and arching backwards with your elbows on the floor moving from a neutral position to a comfortable flexed position arching backwards as much as you can but stopping if back or leg pain worsens. The fourth exercise is on your hands and knees, pushing your back up toward the ceiling then pushing it to the floor, (this is often called the cat stretch). These exercises should be initiated slowly and if there is any pain or discomfort, to stop before you have pain. I would recommend doing these exercises two to three times a day.

There are many nutritional aspects to sciatic nerve pain you may not be aware. A diet that is pro-inflammatory i.e., one that is rich in meat, dairy and shellfish, will give more inflammation to all nerves. An anti-inflammatory diet consists of fruits, vegetables and fish. This is one of the most powerful ways to treat the symptoms of inflammation and stop pain.

The nutrients that I found to be most effective in treating sciatic nerve pain are turmeric, tulsi and rosemary. These powerful herbs have been studied and found to greatly decrease inflammation. Boswellia is an herb that is a specific anti-inflammatory. This is especially helpful for arthritic patients. Bromelein is a plant enzyme found in pineapples and has natural anti-inflammatory affects. I prefer to take this with papain as well, it is essential that you take it on an empty stomach to really get the benefits of the anti-inflammatory nature. Ginger is a powerful herb that offers pain relief. You can steep fresh ginger in boiling water and use it as a tea or make a juice out of it. Evening primrose oil, black currant oil, or borage oils contain the essential fatty acids Gammalinolenic acid. These omegas will greatly reduce the inflammatory process and take down the inflammation on the sciatic nerve.

There are many ergonomically beneficial positions that will improve sciatic nerve pain no matter the cause. It is an important part of your treatment to improve your posture and use your body correctly. Good posture allows the use of the body without strain on muscles, joints, ligaments, and internal organs. Good posture must be considered in all activities: sitting, standing, resting, working, playing and exercising. It is simply not a matter of “standing tall”.

In the resting position, it is beneficial to lay flat on your back with two pillows under your knees or lay on your side with a pillow between your knees. Avoid positions like sleeping flat with no pillow, on your stomach or lying on your stomach with one knee bent up. This will cause a ’swayback’ condition. Some simple things, such as getting up and down from bed, to get into bed it is preferred that you sit on the side of the bed bring both arms to one side, lower your side to the bed keeping your knees bent at forty five degrees, then pull your feet into bed. Remain on one side or roll on the back. Getting up from the bed it is best to roll on your side push with the hands to the sitting position keeping knees bent and swinging legs over the edge of the bed. When sitting, avoid a chair that is too high, as this will increase swayback. When sitting, the knees should be higher than the hips as this will flatten the lumbar curvature. Avoid slouching on a chair with feet on an ottoman because this can strain the lower back. When traveling in a car the seat should be close to the steering wheel and use a small pillow for proper lumbar support. When standing, I recommend placing one foot on a stool or shelf and after a short time switch to the other foot this will flatten the lumbar curve and ease the pressure off the lumbar spine. When lifting, avoid bending at the waist. Bend the knees and carry the object close to the body. When bending, bend at the knees and push your buttocks out rather then flexing at the waist.

My final tip on stopping sciatic nerve pain is to drink plenty of H2O. A dehydrated body is one that will be more difficult to heal. It is important to drink at least six to eight glasses of water per day to keep the body well hydrated and to flush toxins built up from resulting muscle spasms of the pain and inflammation. Water will also keep the disc well hydrated. Between your spinal bones are intervetebral discs that dry out as we age the more we can keep them hydrated, the less arthritis will occur in the spine. This is also the cause of us getting shorter as we age is each little disc between the vertebrae dry out, or desiccate, then subsequent height loss will occur.

If you follow these simple steps for stopping sciatic nerve pain, you will go a long way preventing any discomfort in the future and avoid any harmful drug side effects or painful surgical intervention. Remember, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
